Etching

Introduction to the use of the various tools used in the etching process. Preparation of the plate (zinc or copper) Creation of a drawing. Drawing on the plate with tracing paper. Learn how to wet the paper, to use ink and clean the plate. The printing process with the manual press. The method of the aquatint to obtain different grays.

Plate test. 8 lessons per month. Min 5 Max 10 students.

Material List provided by the school:

Zinc Plates, Varnishes, Brushes, Needles, Scrapers, Chalcography Inks, Spatulas plastic and metal, Printing Paper, Turpentine, Alcohol, Tissue Paper, Tracing Paper, Plastic, Rosin for Aquatint, Hand soap, Rags and Plastic adhesive to cover the back of the matrix

Lessons are taught in Italian or in English.
At the end of the course students will receive a certificate of participation (Diploma).
